What New Zealand actually establishes
Get Ready establishes household preparedness for three days or more. NEMA’s National Space Weather Response Plan Version 2.0 is the current direct national hazard-specific response source and defines readiness, warning, national coordination, critical-infrastructure and public-information arrangements.

Three days or more is explicit in household guidance.
INFRASTRUCTURE RECOVERY
National response coordination may continue beyond household supplies without implying a longer household stockpile target.
Household preparedness
Get Ready supports at least 9 L of water per person for three days, food for three days or more, medication and medical needs, cash, torches, radio and official Civil Defence information, charged phones and power banks, backup power where required, alternative cooking, warmth, emergency toilet arrangements, paper navigation backup, important documents and contacts, medical-device contingencies and household or neighbor planning.
Infrastructure dependencies
NEMA Version 2.0 establishes national response arrangements for significant space weather, including critical infrastructure, essential services, warning time, communications degradation, grid protection, public information and national coordination.
Evidence limitations
- Household benchmark and quantities come from Get Ready, not from the space-weather response plan.
- NEMA Version 2.0 supplies the national hazard-specific response structure.
- Do not use the older DPMC annual report as the primary evidence that the plan exists when the direct current plan is available.
